~ NURSING HOME VISITS ~
transitional care unit
4-21-2009.
It was a cold and dreary night.....on the outside. Inside the Fellowship Hall at FGCC, Joann, Paul, Jeanette, Shirley, Carl, Avery, Amanda, Debbie,  Janice, Mikaela, , Van, Rebecca and Mike enjoyed  wonderful fellowship and  outstanding vittles before practicing several songs for the church service out at the Nursing Home next Tuesday. We greatly missed Betty and Glorine, George, Juanita and Kenneth......and YOU if you were not there.  It is always a great time, trying to polish the songs we  know well, and trying not to butcher the ones we don't know too badly. The idea is to make a joyful noise to the Lord, and that I think we accomplish. The feeling of singing at the Nursing Home and the folks joining in, clapping their hands and smiling, is priceless. Having church  at the Nursing Home is a a small service we try to perform for the residents there in the hope that just maybe someone will be lifted up, maybe given some peace, or even come to the Lord.  Every time we go, we have the strange sensation that the folks at the Nursing Home are more of a blessing to us than we are to them. I do believe that this is how serving the Lord works. If you have never gone out there, give it a try. You will be glad you did.
