~ The Tabitha Circle ~

The Tabitha Circle is a sewing ministry that started several years ago. Young ladies learn about the sewing machine, fabric, using a rotary cutter, basic sewing skills and simple quilt patterns.

These life skills are important but the group’s main focus is serving God by serving others. The group was named for Tabitha (Dorcas) mentioned in the book of Acts chapter 9. Tabitha made clothing for the widows and the Bible says she was always doing good and helping the poor.

Each year the girls will create at least one “love” project. In the past they have made quilts for the Galilean Home Angel House, the pregnancy center, the nursing home, and our Jamaican mission. They also get to make a few things for themselves.

Our Forest Grove family and other Christian friends have been very generous in their support of the Tabitha Circle. We have been blessed with many donations of fabric, sewing machines, supplies and money so there has never been any expense for the young ladies.
